Water features, ponds and fountains, built into your landscape

We design and build backyard ponds, pondless waterfalls, streams and fountains across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, as part of a new landscape or added to an existing yard.

A water feature is mostly groundwork. The excavation, the base, the liner and the plumbing decide whether it runs clean for years or leaks and clogs after the first winter. Because we already do excavation, drainage, retaining walls and stonework, we build the whole thing ourselves: shaping the ground, setting the liner and boulders, and hiding the pump and plumbing so you see the water and the stone, not the equipment.

Sloped Tri-Cities lots are well suited to streams and waterfalls that use the grade you already have. On flat lots, a pondless waterfall or a bubbling fountain gives you the sound of moving water without open standing water, which is easier with kids and pets. We focus on design and installation, and we set every feature up so it is simple for you to keep running.

What we build

  • Pondless waterfalls
  • Backyard ponds and koi-style ponds
  • Streams and cascades down a slope
  • Bubbling rock and urn fountains
  • Water features built into retaining walls and patios
  • Lighting for water features

How the job runs

  1. Design

We look at slope, sun, sightlines from the house and where the power will come from, then lay out the feature to suit the yard.

  2. Excavate

Dig to shape, with shelves and depths planned for the stone and the liner.

  3. Liner and plumbing

Underlayment, liner, pump vault and buried plumbing, sized for the flow you want.

  4. Stonework

Boulders and river rock set to hide the liner edges and shape how the water falls.

  5. Start-up

Fill, run and tune the flow, and walk you through how to keep it running.

Questions we get asked

What is a pondless waterfall?

The water falls into a gravel-filled basin below ground and is pumped back to the top, so there is no open pond. You get the look and sound of a waterfall with less upkeep and no standing water.

Can you add a water feature to my existing landscape?

Yes. We can build one into an existing yard, or tie it into a new patio or retaining wall project.

Do you maintain water features?

No. We design and install only, and don't offer ongoing maintenance. We set each feature up so routine care is simple and show you what to do at start-up.

How much does a backyard water feature cost?

It depends on size, type, stone and access. A small fountain is a modest project; a pond with a stream and waterfall is a larger build. We give a written estimate for the agreed scope after a site visit.
